The whole idea behind this exciting new line of wedges was...... feel.
Once the premise was set, SMT literally started this project from the ground up. SMT wanted classic shape, SMT wanted high spin profile, SMT wanted soft feel, SMT wanted quality... SMT ended up with The Durometer Series Wedges.
Completely unique design for 2005, their first venture into the field of "scoring clubs" is already a huge winner. The Durometer Series Wedges feature two very different "feel cartridges" built right into the sleek, tapered neck of the clubhead. Independent testing shows the Players Series ( black insert cartridge ) will absorb up to 14% of the shock of impact. The Tour Series model ( green insert cartridge ) promises to absorb up to 4% of the shock that is normally felt during impact. Combine that with a special heat treated 303 soft cast stainless steel, CNC milled flat faces and grooves that are machined into the clubface one at a time, afford you the ultimate in feel and spin characteristics. 6 lofts in each cartridge system are sure to fill in the gaps that you might see in your current wedge game. Give one a try and see why I am so excited about this unique design.
Face is CNC Milled for consistancy. Grooves milled for perfection!
MY SON IS REALLY ENJOYING THE WEDGES. USING THEM FOR THE THIRD ROUND, HE SHOT A TIDY 76 IN A TOURNAMENT TODAY. HE WAS JUST STARTING TO DIAL IN THOSE BITING CHIP SHOTS THAT CAN BE CREATED WITH THE DUROMETER WEDGES. HE SAID HE SUCKED BACK ONE OF HIS APPROACH SHOTS ABOUT 7FT THE
OTHER DAY. HE REALLY THOUGHT THAT WAS COOL. SO THE REPORT IS GREAT!
THANKS AGAIN. I'LL WRITE MIKE LATER AND HEAP SOME MORE PRAISE ON HIM.
HE'S HAD PLENTY AS OF LATE.

The grind on the 57* is awesome; more than enough bounce, but I can still open the clubface without lifting the leading edge off the ground - and it
looks like the club was built that way in the factory! I didn't expect the grind to be so invisible. Also, I chipped a couple of balls around my apartment, and the spin these wedges put on the ball is pretty incredible!
